A place born from the desire to pause

A place born from the desire to pause

The Valley Resort began with a simple longing: air that feels clean, space that feels real, and days shaped by nature. Here, leaves move softly between the trees, the earth carries its deep morning scent, and the mountain air settles around you with a rare kind of ease.

How it all started

After years of creating holiday places across Europe, we felt ready for a different kind of project. One with a more intimate scale, a closer relationship with nature, and a rhythm shaped by the land itself.

We found it here, in Romania, where the mountains rise around the valley and the forest feels alive in every season. The Valley Resort brings together everything we have learned over the years, shaped into our most personal project so far: warm, thoughtful, and deeply connected to its surroundings.

A developer with roots and vision

A developer with roots and vision

The Valley Resort is created by a team with more than 25 years of experience in developing holiday destinations across Europe. In Romania, this experience meets local knowledge, mountain air, timber, stone, open sky, and a deep respect for the character of the land.

Our vision is to create a resort where every part of the stay feels carefully considered. Homes built with natural materials. Interiors made for real rest. Terraces for morning coffee, long conversations, and evenings when the air turns cool after sunset. Water is part of this experience too: the warmth of a private jacuzzi, the calm surface of a pool, the soft heat of a sauna, and that clean feeling of renewal after a day outdoors.

A place worth slowing down for

A place worth slowing down for

The Valley Resort is not built around excess. It is built around feeling well. Around waking rested, breathing more deeply, eating simply, walking among trees, and returning to a warm, beautiful space at the end of the day.

The land that found us

Vama Buzăului has a special kind of calm. The mountains are close, the forests give the air a clean, green scent, and the days seem to stretch a little longer here. Around The Valley Resort, you find open views, old stories, seasonal flavours, and the quiet craft of people who know the land well.

What drew us here was the feeling of space. The way light moves across the hills. The smell of grass and earth after rain. The soft sound of leaves between the trees. The clean air, the natural shade, the taste of local ingredients, and the rare pleasure of having room to breathe.

Nature, Protected and Honored

Natura 2000 area

The Valley Resort is part of a Natura 2000 protected area, a natural setting recognised for its ecological value. This guides the way we build, plant, move, and care for the resort: with respect for the land, the forest, and the life already here.

Flora & Fauna

From bears to wild boar, from lynx to rare birds, The Valley Resort is alive with vibrant, untamed biodiversity. We honor this richness not only in the way we design and construct, but in how we choose to live respectfully alongside the species that call this place home.

Street names

That’s why our park streets are named after local species. Why our activities are designed with nature in mind. And why we’ve kept as much of the land as wild and untouched as possible.

Whispers of the Past

The Valley Resort - a crossing of stories.

The waterfall of old voices

The waterfall of old voices

Local stories say that the waterfall took its name from the strong sound of the falling water. Over time, that sound became part of the imagination of the place, giving rise to tales of women with unusual powers gathering near the forest and the rocks.

Today, Cascada Urlătoarea remains one of the best known natural places near Vama Buzăului, a spot where nature and local folklore still meet in a quiet, memorable way.

The old women in counsel

The old women in counsel

In the Ciucaș Mountains, some rock formations carry names shaped by the people who looked at them for generations. Babele la Sfat is one of them: a group of stones whose forms suggest old women sitting together in conversation.

It is a simple image, but a powerful one. The mountain becomes more than stone and height. It becomes a place where imagination, weather, and time have worked together.

The old customs road

The old customs road

The name Vama Buzăului carries the memory of an old customs point, once part of the route between Transylvania and Wallachia. People, goods, news, and stories passed through this mountain area long before it became a place of rest.

That history gives The Valley Resort a quiet depth. It is not only a beautiful place on the map, but part of an old crossing, where different worlds once met on the road through the mountains.

Our Vision

"The Valley Resort was created for those who come here not to do more, but to feel more."

The vision of The Valley Resort

The Valley Resort is built around simple mountain pleasures: warm water after a walk, fresh air in the morning, breakfast on the terrace, and a home that gives you room to rest. Here, comfort stays close to nature.

A story woven into the details

Our logo carries two inspirations from this place: the rhododendron that colours the Ciucaș Mountains in bloom, and the traditional stitched motifs of the region. Together, they form a symbol of natural beauty, local craft, and the care we put into every detail of The Valley Resort.
